Recently received: Another World by Elisabeth Tonnard. For me, this pint-sized photo book is a perfect balance of visual interest and concept, combined with a little viewer interaction to boot.
The photographs were taken in a single day and sit alongside newspaper headlines from the same day. With titles such as; ‘US halting millions in Aid to Pakistan’ and ‘Russia: 102 missing after boat sinks in Volga’.
After realising the weight of these events and the attached emotions, you’re able to venture to the opposite page where you can (with the aid of the provided magnifying glass) discover this other world, little creatures living out their days in the peace and quite of the field. Without the magnifying glass it’s hard to see what they’re actually doing but when you get there, it’s a pleasant surprise indeed. Thanks for this gorgeous book Elizabeth.

Recently I was given a few lost+found slides as part of a birthday present. I wonder if these people, have any idea their family photo has ended up on my blog. A photograph taken to remember, then forgotten, found and finally uploaded. Be free photo, into the oceans of on-line images.

Thanks to everyone who came to check out my recent show in Melbourne. It’s been nice to develop this project, seek advice, re-draft, edit down, prep and apply to a space.
Also thanks to my Granddad for his support and collaboration, and Dan Miller for his advice and hard work.
